TOP-LISTE:

3. "Nuggets: The Original Artyfacts From The First Psychodellic Era; 1965-1968": Pošto sam važne vinile odavno poklonio/pogubio, nabavio sam nedavno ovaj senzacionalni box-set sa četiri CD-a odabranih snimaka američkih garažnih psihodeličnih bendova poput 13th Floor Elevators, The Strangelovers, Electric Prunes, The Mojo Men, Nazz...
5. Uvek i zauvek: "As Tears Go By", "Play With Fire", "Long Long While", "Take it or Leave It", "Get Off Of My Cloud", "Ruby Tuesday", "Sticky Fingers": "Moonlight Mile", "I Got The Blues", "Dead Flowers", "Wild Horses", "Sway"...

Preporuke za gledanje:

Viva nova Srbija!
2. "Kill Bill" zbog: "Vi srećnici koji još imate svoje živote..."
3. "Kill Bill" zbog Čiaki Kurijame, japanske gimnazijalke i telohraniteljke glavne antiheroine O-en Iši.
4. "Kill Bill" jer je Uma Turman obučena kao Brus Li.
5. "Kill Bill" jer i samuraji vole surf-rock.

Preporuke za čitanje:

Rudy Carrera

Rudy Carrera is a producer and talent agent (Tone Casualties in Los Angeles and Aprelevka Sound in Russia), owner of labels Falçata-Galia, Tariff Records (with David Katznelson), and president of Carrera-Linn Cultural Exchange (CLCX), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Carrera first received training learning about the Russian jazz and experimental music scene, which whetted his appetite for strange music from all over the ex-USSR and Eastern Europe. From there, he became a talent scout for Gabor Csupo's Tone Casualties Records, signing Kismet and DJ Kiril from Macedonia. He then worked in conjunction with Transparency to produce a series of discs for Falçata-Galia (RIP), formed a two-disc partnership with Birdman Records owner Dave Katznelson called Tariff, and has recently returned to activity in order to publish new music from young artists in developing countries. He also serves as a distribution representative for Shore Entertainment, Inc., based in Colorado. He resides in Southern California, but is planning to return to the Balkans to set up a new base of operations shortly.

Top Ten Records:

1. Joy Division - "Closer": Although the song "Ceremony" is perhaps the greatest song I've ever heard, as an album, this one affects my mood in ways that no album ever has. It is absolutely bleak, full of despair, yet somewhere in the mix, there is a sparkle of hope. A nearing of an end, and the light of a new beginning. It is the warmest "cold" album ever made.
2. Killing Joke - "Extremities": The band at their most progressive and violent, sounding like King Crimson tackling Venom.
3. Mizar - "Svjat Dreams": One of the first albums from the Balkans I was exposed to, it would eventually lead to me spending time with some of the artists responsible for this massive creation.
4. Univers Zero - "1313": Rock with a chamber music twist, this is the sort of album that should define progressive rock, as opposed to dreck like Dream Theater.
5. Kismet - "Wake Up Gods": I signed them to Tone Casualties, who I worked for for some years. Their music would define TC's sound for a while, and they need to go back to making records, as they have been quiet too long.
6. Astor Piazzolla - "Tango: Zero Hour": The album oozes sex, danger and passion, in a way only an Argentine could come up with.
7. Pink Floyd - "Piper At The Gates of Dawn": Syd Barrett and the band psychedelicized the British music scene with this mind-blowing album. Few have matched its influence.
8. Throbbing Gristle - "20 Jazz Funk Greats" Industrial music done in a smooth, almost fusion-like way.
9. Wedding Present - "Bizarro": The coolest indie album ever made since the mid-1980s. Period.
10. Peter Brötzmann - "Machine Gun": Raw noise made my an absolute master of his instrument (sax).

Top Ten Books:

1. God, et al. - The Bible: For history, parables, morality, law, music and philosophy, nothing has even topped reading this.
2. Jorge Luis Borges - "The Aleph": My master in terms of literature. Few have demonstrated such a control of either Spanish or English.
3. Ezra Pound - "Cantos": Controversial to the very end, Pound jumped subjects seamlessly, tying topics like Chinese calligraphy, troubadour songs and fascist politics seamlessly.
4. Orhan Pamuk - "Snow": A new favorite for me, Pamuk's style writes in a way that makes me dream movies of his words in my sleep. A profound new voice.
5. Nicolas Ostler - "Empires of the Word": Language has always been a fascinating topic for me, especially etymology. Ostler does a masterful job of showing us language's interesting history.
6. Paul Bowles - "The Sheltering Sky": Desert life was never more attractively described than by this American expatriate and Beat.
7. Søren Kierkegaard - "Either/Or": Philosophy of Protestant Christianity by an author who would later be hailed as a hero to atheists.
8. A. B. Mitford - "Tales of Old Japan": A series of folk tales that would later inspire Borges in some of his short stories.
9. Czeslaw Milosz - "Milosz's ABC": Reminisces by letter by the famed Polish author.
10. C.S. Lewis - "Mere Christianity": The best apologetic for Christianity ever written.
